Endless Summer: Borgo Gallana
Accompany us on a journey to Borgo Gallana’s holiday home in the northern Salento area of Puglia.
"The building's simple and authentic approach to design elegantly represents the core value of a Puglian lifestyle, combining the natural with the man-made."
Located in the northern Salento area of Puglia, in the countryside of Oria, lays Borgo Gallana, a holiday home designed to reflect a slow way of living, offering visitors a brief getaway from the rush of everyday life.
Designed by Studio Andrew Trotter, the complex consists of three guest houses surrounded by pacifying landscapes where the sound of bees is ever-present, and the smell of wildflowers and herbs drifts through the air. The building’s simple and authentic approach to design elegantly represents the core values of a Puglian lifestyle, combining the natural with the man-made.
Local materials and artisan creations complement the construction and traditional building methods; meanwhile, FRAMA’s pieces celebrate the purity of raw, natural materials and fill the rooms with functional and utilitarian items.
Furniture is carefully curated to match the home’s feel, themed around geometrical shapes. Chair 01 contrasts vintage-looking furniture while in tune with the overall architecture and clean lines. The lighting adds a modern touch to the space without being overwhelming, keeping the focus on the tranquil rooms.
Borgo Gallana’s interior and surroundings embody the atmosphere of old farmhouse-like homes. Encompassed in olive tree fields and seaside scenery, the simple life is mirrored in the unique yet balanced design. Like a postcard, the clouds are anchored to the eternal summer sky like a dome of blue. Nature is awake. A broth of verdant smells swirls in the air.
